DRESS CODE ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey folks—before we get into something as serious as our dress code, I want to share a little story.
There was a woman who had hit rock bottom. Life had been unkind. She’d been hurt by people who claimed to represent God and so, years ago, she walked away from faith altogether. But somewhere in the quiet corners of her heart, she remembered that Yahweh Himself had never failed her.
One day, she felt a tug on her spirit—so she left the women’s shelter she was staying in, walked to the nearest synagogue, and sat quietly in the back. During the service, with tears and trembling lips, she recommitted her life to Yeshua.
After the service, the rabbi approached her. Seeing her worn-out clothes—booty shorts and a tight top—he said, “We’re glad you’re here, but next time, could you pray and ask Yahweh what He’d want you to wear when you come to this house?”
She nodded humbly. It was all she owned besides a set of sleeping clothes, but she agreed.
Next service? She came in wearing the same thing.
Again, the rabbi said, “Please, before next time, ask Yahweh what you should wear to synagogue.”
So the third time she came, same outfit again. This time, the rabbi met her at the door and said, “Young lady, didn’t I ask you to pray and ask Yahweh what you should wear to this holy place?”
She said, “Yes sir, I did.
”
He asked, “Well, did He answer you?”
She said, “Yes sir, just like last time. He told me He wasn’t sure what I should wear… because He’d never actually been in this synagogue.”
Ouch.
Sometimes we can be so caught up in appearance that we forget the heart. But with that said, let’s talk honestly about our dress code here:
Come as you are—but understand the environment you’re walking into.
If all you own is a tank top and shorts, come anyway. Just let us know—we will happily take you shopping and make sure you’re dressed with dignity and modesty, because we love you. This is a community of support, not shame.
But if you do have options—then choose modesty. That goes for men and women.
So here’s the rule: Dress modestly at all times.
- No midriffs
- No short shorts
- No deep plunging necklines
- And no shirts off—yes, even at the pool
Modesty is not just for females. Men, we’re talking to you too.
Why? Because the space we create here is holy. It’s a place where hearts heal, lives are restored, and Yahweh does dwell—if we invite Him in.
Shalom, and let the countdown begin! 🔥🌿📖
